Festive Flurry

I love to reuse items that I have on hand,  This is an envelope that I cut in half and sponged the edges with Baked Brown Sugar.  I added a belly band using a piece of DSP from Winter Frost and white ribbon.  I stamped 3 of the snow flakes from the Festive Flurry set.  I used Bermuda Bay and Pool Party ink.  I used the framelits to cut the snow flakes. I scored 2 of the layers.  I left the bottom layer flat.  I score every other point on one side and flipped the flake over and scored the other points.  This gave it dimension I was very happy with the out come.

Thoughts & Prayers

It's hard to believe time goes by so fast.  I can remember when I was young thinking that time took so long.  Things are getting back to normal around here now that soccer and baseball are done.  We actually had dinner at the table like real families do...lol  With that said I haven't had time to be creative as much as I would like, but last night I did take a few minutes to make this card.  Here is my first attempt with inking directly on the block to create the back ground color.  I have to say I like the way it came out.  I will continue working on this method but I thought I would share my first attempt.
Thanks for stopping in, happy stamping!

Mummy

Here's another trash to treasure.  I made this guy to go along with the Frankenstein I has made before.  This was another very easy project.  I took white card stock and cut random stripes of paper.  I colored the edges of the paper with basic gray.   I adhered the paper to the can with Tombo glue.  I cut 2 1" circles and added them for the eyes.  I hope you can tell he is a mummy.  I showed him to my husband,  he said "the only way I knew it was a mummy was because I had seen the Frankenstein from before".  I looked at him like he was crazy.  So let me know what you think.

Halloween

Here's a card for Halloween.  It may look harder than it really is.  You need a 4x12 piece of paper and score at 2,4,8&10.  You turn the paper the long way and make a mark at 2".  You will cut from the outside to the first fold line, giving you a triangle piece.  I added that to the bottom on the fold, I creased it gain, and folded the flap back.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!

Trash to treasure

How about a little trash to treasure!  I made this guy from an empty lemonade container and paper.  Very simple to do, I just covered him with paper and punched some circles used a few Stampin dimensionals to raise the eye lids and nose and he was done, very easy and quick.   We will be using him at work for a prize, not sure I really want to give him away...lol.

Halloween is such a fun holiday.  I realize my boys will be out growing it, at some point, but I still enjoy it.  Here is a card in a shape of a boot.  I have seen several on line and decided to try my hand at this one.  Didn't look to difficult.

stampin up festive flurry

Festive Flurry from Stampin Up!.
Here is a little open top box that I created using the Festive Flurry stamp set with the coordinating framelits.

The Box measures 3 x 31/2 when completed.  You need a sheet of paper measuring 9 1/2 x 5, I used whisper white.  Score at 3, 4 1/2, 7 1/2 and 9.  Turn paper and score at 1 1/2 for the bottom part.  You need to cut the bottom portion up to score line to form flaps for the bottom.  I used a 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 sheet of paper from the DSP winter frost. One sheet was just right for this box.  The front measures
2 3/4 x 3 1/4, and the sides measure 1 1/4 x 3 1/4.  I stamped the two snowflakes the larger one using basic gray the smaller one in coastal cabana. I cut them out using the coordination framelits.  I finished the snowflake off with a pearl.  I punched holes around the top and threaded a piece of ribbon and finished with a bow in the front.

These are the same steps I used to create the skull box.

Anniversary

Our house has been so busy with baseball and soccer. I didn't know if I would ever have time to get back to my blog.  So I had a few minutes before I need to run out the door to another double header baseball game.  I made this card for a co-worker.  She wanted red, white & blue for the anniversary of her grandparents that was on the 4th of July.  This is what I came up with.

Summer time fun!

What a crazy several days we have had in our house.  We have 3 boys 13,11 & 9, all of them are playing base ball.  Some days we don't know if we're coming or going, but I know my husband and I wouldn't change a thing.

I recently purchased the Perfectly Preserved stamp set with the coordinating framelits from Stampin Up!.  What to do with it???  Here's what I came up with!  For those of you that are unfamiliar with the stamp set the corn is almost 2" high and  1/2" wide.  I stamped the corn in Daffodil Delight and the bottom in Old Olive. I added the corn to a piece of card stock and stamped my husbands name on it.  This would be perfect for a summer time party, if only we could fit that in somewhere.

I love how it turned out . Happy Stamping!

streching my imagination

Card #2 from my starter kit from stamping up. The original stamp has 3 flowers and says thank you.  I decided to stamp just the flowers and repeated them across the paper.  The flowers made me think birthday, since mine is coming up in a few days.  I colored the image using a blender pen and ink.
